What is the Paso Doble?

"Paso doble" means "double step" in Spanish, a nod to its marching rhythm. The dance was developed in France in the early 1900s, drawing on Spanish bullfight music and flamenco. The leader portrays the matador, and the follower often represents the matador's cape, or sometimes the bull or a flamenco dancer.
